Implementation Methodology
- The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) is a statutory authority
- Aadhaar (Targeted Delivery of Financial and Other Subsidies, Benefits and Services) Act, 2016 (“Aadhaar Act 2016”) provides legal backing
- UIDAI Ecosystem comprises of Enrolment & Update Ecosystem and Authentication Ecosystem
- Enrolment Ecosystem consists of Registrars and PPP based Enrolment Agencies
- UIDAI facilitates authentication through Authentication Service Agencies (ASAs) and Authentication User Agencies (AUAs) from various Government and non-Government organisations
- Realtime authentication is provided through deployment of dedicated data centres in active-active mode to ensure high availability
